If you have a toothache, broken tooth, cracked tooth, or abscess, you may need a dental extraction. Our dentists can help diagnose your condition and determine if the tooth can be saved. If the tooth is too damaged to repair, it can usually be removed at our office during the same appointment.

About Dental Extractions

The reasons that a tooth would require an extraction include a tooth infection or abscess, periodontal disease, extensive decay, a fracture, or excessive crowding. In most cases, there is an infection or permanent nerve damage. If the tooth can be saved, your dentist will recommend a less invasive procedure, such as a crown or root canal.

Our dentists are proficient in simple and surgical extractions and can even remove wisdom teeth. The procedure of the extraction involves one of our dentists using a local anesthetic to numb the tooth and jawbone, as well as the gums that surround the area. While pressure is put on the tooth so it can be gently removed, the anesthetic will prevent you from feeling pain. The local anesthetic in combination with one of our dental sedation options is an effective way to manage your dental anxiety and guarantee a pain-free dental experience.
