Sedation Dentistry can benefit patients who do not enjoy the sights and sounds of a dental appointment, allowing them to relax and experience comfort during the procedure. We offer multiple levels of sedation, ranging in cost from $49 – $299, depending on the type of drug used during the sedation appointment.
What is Sedation Dentistry?
Sedation dentistry is a service we offer to our patients to help them relax during their dental procedure. The primary goal is to reduce your anxiety and give you the most comfortable dental experience possible. In addition to reducing anxiety, our higher levels of sedation also affect your memory, so, although conscious, you will have little or no memory of your dental appointment.
Types of Sedation Dentistry
We offer different levels of sedation, including laughing gas sedation and oral conscious sedation, depending on the patient’s preference and level of anxiety. Additional training and a special permit are required for dentists to provide oral conscious sedation and administer oral sedatives. Sedation dentistry also includes IV Sedation, where an anesthesiologist comes into the office to administer an even higher level of sedation.
Is Sedation Dentistry Safe?
Sedation dentistry is offered to our healthy adult patients who have completed a free sedation consultation, during which the dentist reviews your medical history and medications and answers any questions you have regarding the sedation appointment.
